Ready to start organising your Wedding Flowers? Already booked your free Wedding Flower Consultation with us? Fabulous news! Before you attend your appointment, here are ‘a few questions that I need to know’…
No, we’re not about to start going all nineties on you and quoting All Saints and the Spice Girls, but as ‘Two Become One’ here are some things to think about before attending your wedding flower consultation.
Side note: we do think we’d be in for the winning if there was ever a florists karaoke competition!
We don’t mind if your wedding is up to eighteen months away, particularly if it’s a Bank Holiday or school holiday date, as these tend to book quicker than midweek weddings. The sooner you reserve your date with us, the sooner you can tick another job off that never ending wedding to do list!
Your wedding flower consultation is free and we’d suggest you allow at least an hour and a half of your time – we’ve got a lot to chat about and lots of goodies to show you! We recommend parking in Sainsbury’s (also free for two hours.) Weddings tend to be expensive, so anything free helps right?
Please only bring people with you that share your vision for your big day. If it’s just the two of you that’s fine, perfect in fact – we love getting to know you! If it means bringing your Mother in Law to be, because she can help you with flower types and has a great eye for detail, definitely bring her along (mine’s ace, I hope yours will be too!). If it’s your group of Bridesmaids we will always do our best to accommodate everyone, but please remember the shop isn’t huge!
When we email to confirm your appointment we’ll ask you to bring along some or all of the following:
- Pictures of the wedding party outfits; dresses, suits, etc… don’t worry we won’t discuss ‘The Dress’ in front of anyone for whom it should be a surprise!
- The actual bridesmaid dress or at least a photo of it in natural light
- Colour swatches – these help us recommend floral colours
- Picture of any key accessories
- Samples of your wedding stationery.
All these items help us, to help you, as they give us an idea of your theme, your style and what your big day is going to look like.
You may not arrive knowing exactly what you want, but during the consultation we will look at flowers, foliage’s, ribbons, vases, accessories, etc… and you will leave with a much better understanding of the types of wedding flowers you may wish to include (and exclude) on your special day.
We shall also need to know who you would like flowers for. Please think about this before you arrive, particularly when it comes to parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, etc. Write a list if you can – we have one to so will ensure you’ve covered everything, but it’s good to come with an idea of what you require.
After your consultation it may take up to a week to receive your quotation from us. Every couple’s requirements are different and no two weddings are the same.
In order to provide you with a completely personalised service, we do not offer ‘package deals’, but equally there is no minimum spend, so if you would like just a stunning bridal bouquet and a couple of buttonholes, we would be delighted to assist you!
We work closely with your wedding venue/s and our suppliers to create a thorough quote for you, so sometimes we have to wait for responses to questions we may need answering, before we can send you a final quote.
Along with the itemised quote, you will receive a flower proposal sheet which shows you all the flowers we propose to use for your big day.
We will provisionally reserve your wedding date for two weeks from the date of your consultation, enabling you time to discuss your requirements in further detail. After this time, if we have not received your confirmation/deposit, we shall open the date up to other prospective couples.
We hope to hear from you soon,
Emma and the Signature team x
