When an old family friend pings you an email headed ‘I really have no idea … HELP!’ you know you may have a challenge on your hand.
Over a coffee at our first consultation she goes on to add that all they really know for definite is that they want to eat bangers and mash for their wedding breakfast and that although it’s late July she (and her Mum) really want a peony or two! No tall ask at all! Did she get them … course she did … but she had no idea until the day – Surprise!
Once a colour scheme was decided we had a ball matching beautiful seasonal blooms to compliment all the outfits and settled on a very soft, muted palette of minky pinks, dusky lilacs and lots of grey-greens.
The colours of the bridesmaid dress was our starting point as it was an beautiful shade of soft lilac. The bridesmaids carried a smaller version of Katie’s bouquet and wore gorgeous flower combs in their hair to compliment the bouquets they carried, a really beautiful floral detail.
As we worked our way through what Katie and Tom would like it became clear we had creative license! So throughout the Summer we chose a gorgeous collection of blooms to use to create the flowers for their big day.
Katie and Tom were set on a show stopping arch at church, which would become a backdrop for lots of family portraits to treasure for years to come. It was full of blousy hydrangeas, delicate garden roses, lisianthus and trails of soft green amaranthus.
Back at the brides family home floral hoops were the order of the day in the amazing PapaKata tent. Katie’s father braved the ladders and hung these stunning asymmetrical hoops. They created a real sense of occasion and the fairy lights twinkled around them as the evening drew in. Tom and his groomsmen were part of the flower fun too! They wore gorgeous subtle lilac roses with a flower and foliage trim to match the bridal bouquet… This really was the most delightful wedding to be part of and I’m so proud of my talented team for producing such beautiful work.
The images taken by Matt Horan Photography are stunning and capture the day beautifully!
Congratulations Tom and Katie!!
