Back in September I had the honour and privilege of working on Suzie and David’s wedding! A riot of colour was the order of the day!
Suzie and David got married at the stunning Guild Hall in Northampton and held their reception at one of our favourite Summer venues; Huntsmill Farm. The farm is nestled in rural Buckinghamshire surrounded by fields owned by the venue and gorgeous B and B rooms your guests can stay in their website says: “The best part of a wedding at Huntsmill farm is that we have no neighbours so you can really make the event your own with very little restrictions.” A great asset I believe and perfect for a couple who love music and a groom who plays in a band!
Suzie told me she wanted a rainbow of colours in her bouquet, mixed with gorgeous textures and fragrance!
We opted for a mix of gerberas, roses, zinnias, freesia, phlox, leucospernums, craspedia and hypericum and here’s what I created:
As you can see David had an equally vibrant buttonhole which contrasted well with his navy suit. I do love a couple who are brave and bold!!
The flowergirls carried rose wands with flowing ribbons, and the adult maids carried a smaller version of the brides bouquet which looked stunning against their gold dresses.
And the colour didn’t end with the bridal party! As I adorned the tables with assorted bottles and jars the lovely wedding planners were adorning the marquee with metres and metres of bright bunting made by one of the bridesmaids! The bride, groom and their families collected all the containers and we filled them with striking blooms to compliment the bridal party flowers.
When choosing your wedding flowers – have what you want, not what you think you should have and the result will be perfect! As Suzie kindly said to me when I posted a picture of her bouquet after the wedding: Surpassed all of my expectations…still overwhelmed by my bouquet! I love a happy bride! Congratulations Suzie and David! x
