I felt this was the right time to share a little post, just to let you know how much this virus concerns me and to share how my fabulous Signature Flowers team and I are tackling it!
This past week has been all consuming, with the main topic of conversation between business owners (large or small) being Covid-19 and the implications of this virus, on both our families and businesses.
My best friend and I just spent two hours pondering our strategies and communication plans, over our belated Birthday Afternoon Tea! It is so good to have someone as a bounce board in these situations – we can all help each other so much.
We need to be kind to each other and look after everyone: our families, our staff (who are like family), our friends and all those in our communities – especially those who are more vulnerable and less able.
As an independent shop on the high street, it’s worrying right now. We’re all talking about it. Everyone is quieter and taking lots of extra precautions to help keep customers and staff safe. We’ve got hand wipes available, disposable gloves and anti bac wipes for the counters; we are trying to keep everything as clean as possible.
Mothers Day Is A Week Today!
This is a reminder that this year, more than ever, your high street florist needs you! It will soon be upon us (Sunday 22nd) and we need you to know that we are all systems go – our flowers are ordered and will start arriving midweek.
Providing we can source flowers, we will be delivering them. Our wonderful team are ready and waiting for your orders. We can take orders online our website: www.signature-flowers.co.uk or via the phone: 01869 253572.
We’d love to see you in the shop – there are so many gifts available here that aren’t online, but please don’t feel you need to visit us in store, as we will take care of your order for you however you place it!
Please don’t take any chances – choose the florist local to your Mum and order with them directly.
In order to reduce direct contact our drivers won’t be asking for signatures (which is our normal policy), they will fill in their sheet at your door with the name of the recipient and the time of delivery. All of our drivers will be provided with antibac wipes to clean their hands before and after each delivery.
If you are planning a delivery to someone who is self isolating, please let us know ahead of delivery. We will discuss a safe place to leave the gift and call them once it is left there, to reduce any contact.
Your Mum deserves flowers – she’s probably worrying about you, your siblings, your Dad, your grandparents, the dog, the cat, the list goes on… Flowers are known to bring a smile and we all need that right now!
If you have your wedding flowers booked with us and have any concerns about your wedding day, please do get in touch with me via email or phone and I will speak directly to you. Each set of circumstances is going to be slightly different, but we will do all we can to support you and your special day.
How to Help your small business friends:
If you’re a friend/customer of somebody self-employed, or run a small business, here are some ideas to help at this time of uncertainty.
- See if you can recommend them at your place of work, we do weekly jobs, corporate events, reception flowers, etc…
- Tell your friends how gorgeous their products are!
- Share their business page and social media posts.
- Ask them if they’re ok – like really ok!
- Shop locally as much as you can, your high street needs you, from butchers to bakers, florists to hairdressers/barbers we need your business!
- Support them as much as you can – the importance of mental health is a hot topic right now and if your friends with a small business owner although they may appear swanlike (normal to the eye!), their stress levels and mental health will possibly be suffering as they worry about the prospects of the next few weeks / months.
Sending warm wishes to all and I hope that we can all work together to cope as well as is possible, during the weeks ahead.
