Valentine’s Day is rapidly approaching us – for those of you who haven’t realised February 14th is THIS coming Friday (I know it’s in the blog title but you can never remind a loved one enough!)
The day of love for some, lust for others and for some just another date in in the year. For my girls and I, a super busy 48 hours in our Bicester florist shop, ensuring you all get some (roses that is)!
Now my team are fabulous, but they’re not miracle workers. If we’ve already sold 1500 stems of red roses, the chances are lunchtime on Valentine’s Day isn’t the best time to ask if we can deliver any for you. However, don’t panic as by that point in time, we will hopefully have a selection of ready to go bouquets available in store. Of course this cannot be guaranteed, as these will be in limited supply too! The early bird catches the worm and we will be open from 8am, so if you do end up to leaving things until the last minute set your alarm early and pop in before work!
We can also add chocolates, teddy’s and balloons to your order – add them on as you go in our webshop.
So here it is, our customer service reminder… please, please place your order ahead of the big day so we can get it delivered – (we cover our local areas in Oxfordshire) – or ready for you to collect in our Bicester shop!
One of our most popular gifts is the half a dozen luxury red rose bouquet (order online before the 12th February 2020 or call us directly on: 01869 253572.) We sent one to the super talented local photographer Sarah Plater to capture. Now there’s an idea – flowers and a photography voucher! Sarah is so talented her work is dreamy, particularly if like many of my friends you have a little one who’s early years need capturing. Visit her website to see more of her work.
Our Luxury 6 Red Rose bouquet, is made with beautiful ‘Explorer’ roses, which will have been carefully conditioned ahead of Valentine’s day. This means that when they arrive to us we don’t just make a bouquet with them straight away, we nurture the flowers by stripping off the foliage that we do not require, re-cutting the stems and then revitalise them in fresh water with flower food. This prepares them ahead of being constructed into one of these beauties; wrapped in kraft paper and with a biodegradable cellophane bubble, we are gift wrapping these in the most eco friendly way we can.
Your half dozen red roses will be nestled between eryngium thistle, sweet william, waxflower and eucalyptus, a gorgeous combination but all equally beautiful in their own right.
If you are lucky enough to receive a Valentine’s gift created by us, then we truly hope you will adore it! If social media is your thing, please tag us – we love to see them on Facebook and Instagram!
And remember if you haven’t organised your Valentine’s Day Flowers yet then give us a call – this local, independent florist would love to help you!
